Dedication
"Walk Softly on the Autumn Leaves"
Strange title for a book of poetry.
Not Really-
The words are written in the poem, "The Hunter",
a poem about a man, his mother and a tragedy of
life. When she asked how he could walk so
silently in the woods, he replied, "Walk Softly,
stand on your heel, roll on your toe."
Their days of hunting cut short by a "hit and
run" driver one morning in Septemer, 1978.
He left his wife and two daughters - the giant
oak, lofty pine and two saplings.
The mother now hunts with an illusive
image finding dew kissed webs of foot-
prints leading her way in the wood-
lands at dawn.
