If you need comfort and beauty in your life....Read and Enjoy this book of Life After 60 years of writing and almost 30 years of talking about creating a book, twins Jo Ellen "Jo" Fant of Groves and Dorothy "Dot" Roberts of Nederland dream has come true. "Walk Softly on the Autumn Leaves," is a culmination and expression of their individual experiences, experiences as twins, nature and most of all, their rich family life. The Blanchard Twins wrote poems throughout much of their lives without the other one knowing. We kept them in drawers and boxes. Some were written with care on stationary, others scribbled on the back of envelopes, Jo recalled she had written some on her deer blind.

It is our desire that you, in reading our words, can feel the songs within our hearts, joy of our children,our family home and relatives---shed tears of our pain, and anxiety, share enthusiasm of passion and consume faith in our words of thankfulness for our lives. True poetry shows instead of tells emotions. You must feel and see the substance of words.

The Blanchard Twins, Jo and Dot have been writing most all of their lives...together they were cheerleaders, best friends, wives, mothers, and now they are authors...at age 81. "Walk Softly on the Autumn Leaves" is a book of simple writings...free verse poetry ...their words are healing...beautiful...it will make you laugh...cry...and reflect...it is about anyone's life journey...it will fill your heart with wisdom and humor. The twins know a lot about healing because they, through their years together, have suffered from tragedies and from loss that naturally occurs over time in anyone's life...from the loss of a child, to losing their mother to cancer when they were 24 years old...the Great Depression of the late 1920's...having husbands and loved ones serve in WWII...Also they have had the beauty of a new child being born...the happiness of a wedding...Jo and Dot embrace life with enthusiasm and determination...They have always had a song in their hearts and believed in dreams coming true...When they talk about their childhood they describe it as a beautiful fairy tale...full of singing and dancing to music on the radio...cherished memories.
